I'm the girl that carries a backpack and a purse in college..?
Backpack for academic stuff and purse for personal stuff. But it becomes a nuisance when I have a book in my hand, cuz it weighs too much on my back, along with coats and hat, umbrella etc in the cold. i dont like carrying a bag b/c it puts all the weight on one shoulder. since i dont live on campus and my car is not at a convenient distance i carry everything on me just in case. since i want to carry some textbooks or laptop to get stuff done on campus I am wondering does anybody have a good alternative? I love the convenience of my purse and how my wallet is not on my back. Some people suggested a wristlet, but i would still have to tote that in my hand and keep hand sanitizer, lotion, medicine pills, chapstick, etc. in my backpack!

Take only the things you need for that day. You only have two hands and so much stuff your bag can handle.
I'm like you, and I only carry a messenger bag, which has a lot of space for my keys, hand sanitizer, wallet, phone. Whatever books I don't need for the day I leave in my car. The only things that go in and out of my car are my school things.
