Teenage girls, what's the big deal with...?

Teenage girls, what's the big deal with:
-Twilight
-"R.Pattz"
-Hey Monday
-Metro Station
-The Jonas Brothers

Because everytime I walk through the halls at school, all I hear is "Team Edward! Team Jacob! oh em gee, Metro Station, Cassadee whateverherlastnameit, I LESS THAN THREE JOE JONAS"

And it get's to the point where you've lost all sense of genre. You guys are thinking that The Jonas Brothers and all bands who are willing to get on their knees for Pete Wentz to get signed on their label are punk. And sure (and I quote Tony Bevilacqua) "Punk rock is something you buy at hot topic and wear on a T-shirt", but that doesn't mean you have to get a bright green pin that says "Punk Rock" and place it right next to Untalented Jonas's head on your "JB" bag.

No, this isn't a vent.
It's a serious question, and it needs answers.
Why the obsession?
And, no, I'm not saying all teens are like this, because hey, I'm fourteen.

I'm 18 and I don't like any of that stuff. I guess I'm too old for that. lol But I know what your talking about.
Most tweens around 11-16 like that kinda stuff (not all of them though).
I have no idea why they get these crazy obsessions.

I mean obviously, the Jonas Brothers have no talent, but the tweenies think their "HAWT" even though they all look like girls.
